FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Matthew James Publishing heads into the depths of outer space, acquiring a gritty and gripping high-concept sci-fi horror novel from author Brian Fontenot. ‘Seraphim Descent’ perfectly blends cosmic dread, deep space exploration and theological mystery. The book will be released in Autumn 2026.

Worldwide rights to the series were acquired in a direct deal with the author by James Shaw, Publishing Manager at Matthew James Publishing.

About ‘Seraphim Descent’

War veteran Lt. James Carter is forced to join the crew aboard the Seraphim, the deadliest warship ever built. Now retired from combat, the Seraphim’s new mission is to investigate an impossible green star that has appeared one lightyear away from Earth. Joined by a motley crew from across the cosmos, Carter must survive the depths of Nullspace and confront the horrors within with his unyielding faith, the only line of defence he has left.

Author Brian Fontenot described seeing Seraphim Descent published as being “bittersweet”. “Seraphim Descent is dedicated to my father, who passed away from cancer just before the pandemic started. I almost walked away from writing, but I told my father before he passed that I would write another book. That’s what kept me going a few hundred words at a time.

The author continues: I hope readers can still take away a sense of wonder about space exploration. We’re supposed to be among the stars, exploring. We just have to go out there and discover them.”

Seraphim Descent by Brian Fontenot will be published in paperback, ebook, and hardback formats in Autumn 2026. More information will be shared closer to publication.
