Come on a journey through satellite technology, practical farming, lobbying in Brussels and Westminster, medical marketing, campaigning for NGO causes, business development into East Europe and Russia, and volunteer work in Spain. Laugh with me, empathise with my tears, then ponder the challenge of risk and reward.
“It all began with rabbit farming, aged 9”
What is Risk?
Risk is about taking a decision that will cost you without knowing how it will turn out.
What is reward?
Taking risks always yields rewards, but be ready to measure outcome success in non-monetary terms: new experiences, new friends, new skills learnt, the satisfaction of encouraging others, travel, adventure and, ultimately, a greater appreciation for the gift of life.
Having read this book I wonder whether you will endorse my mantra?
Each Chapter ends with a short reflection of a Christian perspective on the events. In fact, the subtitle of the book could have been “Stories of patience, perseverance and praise.”
“Tony has lived a full life of travel, faith and adventure. From the sale of his first rabbit, to the European Union and on to faith journeys across the world, Tony has known and knows this God and his story is one many of us could share, but illuminated by the kind of pervasive and transformative presence of an extraordinary God. Maybe reading this book will challenge you to reflect on what road God wants you travelling down next. That could be fun, meaningful and perhaps just a bit scary!”
