Lived by the People of God
“Church’s Story is a story in which we all have a part to play. It is the Church’s Story and it helps us to recognise the ways in which it is told, from generation to generation, week after week, year after year.” – Bishop Edwin Regan
The Church teaches that Catholic life and teaching is formed, nourished and deepened by Scripture and Tradition. Church’s Story 3 – lived by the People of God introduces children to this lived Tradition. It complements the Scripture resource, God’s Story.
Children will learn about:
- the Church – the community of believers living and sharing Christian faith at home, in the parish community and in the world-wide family of the Church;
- the Sacraments – how God’s love and presence are revealed and celebrated in the Church’s sacraments;
- the Christian life of love, self-giving, and service which is celebrated, experienced, reflected upon and expressed year by year in the liturgical cycle of seasons and feasts.
Church’s Story 3 is for ages 8-11 and beyond.
The three books offer progression in language, style of presentation and extent of text.
The ‘Notes for Adults’ will help those who share these books with children to encourage their understanding and learning.
